Welcome to our Middle School MUN Delegates,

We are thrilled to welcome you to our first Middle School Model United Nations (MUN) Conference. It's really exciting to be having the event and as chance to welcome so many of you to our campus. As you embark on this exciting journey, we hope that you will find this experience challenging, rewarding, and fun.

MUN is an excellent opportunity for you to develop essential skills such as public speaking, negotiation, critical thinking, and teamwork. It also offers you the chance to explore global issues and to gain a deeper understanding of international relations. Schools are always talking about educating the leaders for the future. MUN provides an authentic environment in which to develop those leadership skills.

A special thank you to our MS MUN sponsors: Ms. Robinson and Mr. Kuehn, who along with the support of Mr. Giles, have organized this wonderful event. Something like this is a massive team effort. We are so appreciative of the dedication and skill of our buildings and ground team who transform spaces into meeting rooms and auditorium halls.

Over the next two days, we encourage you to engage in research, debate, and resolution writing. You'll have a chance to practice your speaking and debating skills. Don't forget to practice your listening skills too. You've all stayed informed about the topics you will be discussing and you are ready to do the hard work of considering others' perspectives, even as you represent your delegation's own. 

You will also have the opportunity to meet and interact with students from different schools and backgrounds. This might be one of the most exciting parts. You have a chance to learn from one another and to make new friends. Remember to be respectful, open-minded, and diplomatic in your interactions with others.

Finally, we hope that you will enjoy your MUN experience and leave with a sense of accomplishment and inspiration to better the world. We look forward to seeing you in action and watching you grow as global citizens and leaders.
